Question Of The Week 03/24/2018

Spring is here! We've been getting some awesome questions so keep them coming folks!

Question of The Week:

Q: When is a good time to prune my fruit trees?

A: Most pruning is done during the dormant season in late winter or spring, just before active growth begins.

In North and Central New Mexico, February to early March would be a good time to prune. At this time, pruning wounds heal fast, flower buds are easily recognized, and injury from low winter temperatures may be avoided.

You may want to have an arborist do the pruning, This is a service we do not provide.

Happy Spring!
