Question of the Week 05/25/2019

Q: Why does your weed barrier cost so much? I can go to a local store and get a roll for less than half.

A: That is correct that many of the stores carry weed barrier fabric at a fraction of the price we pay for ours. The price difference is reflected in the quality.

Many of the weed barriers sold at the stores are contractor grade, meaning they are cost effective (for the contractor). Many builders lay this below gravel when they complete a home. These fabrics work for a few years and quickly deteriorate and tear allowing deeply rooted weeds to grow in the gravel.

We receive many calls from clients to re-do the gravel in their yard because of weed issues. To best prevent this problem, we use the thickest, professional grade weed barrier that we can find. We want to make sure the job gets done right the first time. Although weed barrier does not last a lifetime, the fabric we use will save you money in the long run by not having to re-lay weed barrier every few years.
