Q: What is the best way to train vines to grow on a trellis?

A: When you buy a vine from the nursery, it usually comes with three bamboo sticks to help the vine grow upward. The first thing to do after planting the vine is to take the bamboo sticks out and carefully weave each individual vine strand through a trellis that you would install in different directions.

By spreading the strands through the trellis, it will help the vine fill out the trellis faster.
