The powder is made from fossilized remains of tiny organism that lived in the ocean. The powder feels like flour, but is actually sharp and jagged and kills soft body bugs upon ingestion. The downside is it must be spread every time it rains or washes off and it can change the look of your yard by having your plants covered in what looks like powdered sugar.
