This week's question: Q: Can we plant Russian Sage now or wait until next spring? If yes, where should we plant it?
A: Plant it in an area that is self-contained. Our experience with Russian sage is it gets to be very invasive. Even if you use a weed barrier, it will find the smallest tear, even a break in the concrete and start to root. We have substituted planting Russian sage with Blue mist spirea (Caryopteris).
