This is a MASSIVE yard that was already landscaped, but the client wanted it redone. Their landscaping needed a pick-me-up and wanted it to feel like a brand new yard. There were several very mature spruce trees, and a few other plants the client wanted to save. Other than those two points, the client wanted everything brand new.
We got to work! As you can see in the before picture, there was a lot of material that needed to be removed before we could do anything. Railroad
Q: Is a blower a good investment for a homeowner? A: A blower can be a very good investment for homeowners to help maintain a clean yard between visits. An electric battery-powered blower would be best for a homeowner since there is no gas to mix, no wires to trip over, and no motor maintenance.

In last week's transformation, the client had a HEAVILY sloped yard. Although this side was not as unlevel as the other side, it still needed the same kind of work done. The first step was to move the large rocks on the right of the picture so they could be used later. A landscape block wall was installed after being leveled, stacked, and the caps cut and glued. We needed to bring in some fill dirt to level out the slope once the wall was complete. Even though it was not as m
Q: Can irrigation be run under a sidewalk? A: Yes it is possible. If the builder did not put a sleeve under the sidewalk to run a hose and without the proper tools, it is very labor intensive and can be quite costly.

Part one of a 2 part series. On this Transformation Tuesday the client had a backyard that was a blank slate. Even though it wasn’t the biggest yard, we had a great design that not only made the yard look bigger, but made it more functional. The house had a porch that was a lot higher than the surrounding area. We had to address this before we could do anything else. A landscape block wall that was 5 blocks high was installed. This allowed us to backfill the area around the p
Q: I have a moss rock wall that we aren't happy with how it came out. Would you be able to make me a tight-fitting wall reusing the moss rock? A: Yes! Just understand depending on how workable the existing moss rock is since we have to cut to fit, what you may save on material will be spent on labor.
This transformation Tuesday shows how a simple change to a yard can not only make it more useful but make the yard look much bigger. The client had a fairly large yard that they wanted to do in phases. Although it is a little hard to tell in the picture, the soil was steeply sloped where the deck ends. To address this issue, the area would be terraced with landscape block and would also get a double-raised flower bed. On the side area, we would create a flowerbed that was ab
